To Be a Theologian of the Cross

這是在Reformation Heritage Books寄的mail中所發現的一本書，這本書之所以吸引我，主要是因為關於infant communion這個議題。

對我們這個信義宗家庭而言，我和內人都是所謂的第一代基督徒，因此所領受的都是所謂的成人洗禮。而我們家的兩個孩子，所受的則是嬰兒洗禮。在我們過去所參加的中華信義會（當然也包括絕大多數的台灣地區的信義宗教會），對於領受聖餐的規定是，受嬰兒洗禮者必須俟其堅振(confirmation)之後，才能領受聖餐。大約四年前，我們家轉籍加入中華民國台灣信義會，其中一個原因就是這個總會是採取infant communion的立場，亦即領受嬰兒洗禮之後，就可以參與領受聖餐。

對於infant communion的立場，其實我是在開始進行路德聖餐觀的研究之後，才轉向支持，甚至是加以肯定。而其中的主要原因，其實和接受infant baptism一樣，因為嬰孩也是罪人，需要上帝所賜的赦罪之恩。不過，我同時也很納悶，似乎有關於此的研究並不多，至少我看到的文獻少之又少，當然更別談說有專書討論。因此發現這本Children at the Lord's Table?，的確令人為之眼睛一亮。而更有趣的是，這本書的作者與討論背景，並非信義宗教會，而是改革宗背景。因此，這就更令我產生興趣，考慮想敗下來，研究研究。以下是這本書的介紹：
