To Be a Theologian of the Cross

[認識信義宗人物]1月5日是Hans Schwarz (1939-)的生日。

Hans Schwarz於1939年出生於德國Schwabach。中學畢業後，於Erlangen大學及Gottingen大學修讀神學及英國文學。1963年通過Lutheran Chirch of Bavaria教會考試，並獲得Erlangen大學神學博士學位，博士論文主題為Das Verständnis des Wunders bei Heim und Bultmann（Heim與Bultmann神學中之神蹟的觀念）。1963年擔任Nuremberg教會神學院的牧者，隨後獲得WCC的獎學金及Fulbright旅行資助，前往美國Oberlin Graduate School of Theology研習。1966年由Lutheran Chirch of Bavaria按立，並開始其教授資格論文(Habiliation)研究，主題為路德對自然的認識。

1967年，他接受Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary (Columbus, Ohio，現名為Trinity Lutheran Seminary)邀請，先後擔任系統神學講師、助理教授、副教授及首任Edward C. Fendt講座教授。1981年，他接受Univ. of Regensburg邀請，出任新教神學教席（系統神學與當代神學議題），直到2004年榮休。此後他仍然積極參與該校新教神學研究中心，擔任博士生指導並與海外大學保持合作。

去年(2013)本校有幸邀請Prof. Dr. Schwarz擔任路德神學研究所十週年所慶專題講員，這也是他首次來台。
